In a December 19 article, we mistakenly reported that DVD MovieFactory software from Ulead Systems would be bundled with Acer Aspire notebook PCs. The bundle arrangement is for the Acer Aspire desktop PCs.

In a third December 12 article, we mistakenly calculated Winbond's stock buyback as being equivalent to 0.04% of its outstanding shares. The correct figure is 0.49%.
In another December 12 article, we had a discrepancy between the text and table for Asustek Computer's 3Q motherboard ASP. The correct figure is US$67.
In a December 12 article, we mistakenly reported the V8 Volari Duo chip from XGI Technology as being priced at about US$330. The ASP of graphics cards based on the chip is US$449. We also should have said that VIA expects its graphics chip business to turn profitable early next year. The company as a whole is already profitable. Finally, we mistakenly reported VIA's 3Q pre-tax profits as NT$6.1 million. It earned NT$61.28 million before taxes for the period.

In an December 10 article, we mistakenly reported that AMD would deliver chip samples using a 90nm process on 12-inch wafers. The samples will be produced on 8-inch wafers at AMD's Fab 30.

In a November 24 article, we mistakenly reported TSMC and UMC would use FSG with a k-value of below 3 in 90-nm pilot runs. The dielectrics used by TSMC and UMC should be BD and CORAL, respectively.

In yesterday's article, we mistakenly reported that Apache Communication was the distributor for UK-based Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) Bluetooth chips in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. Apache does not distribute CSR Bluetooth chips in South Korea.

In an October 31 article, we mistakenly reported that High Tech Computer (HTC) was shipping the SPV E200 smartphone to TIM of Italy and Telefonica of Spain. Our sources did not specify which smart handheld device was being shipped.

In an October 30 article, we mistakenly reported that ProMOS Technologies raised its financial forecast for a second time. In its earlier adjustment, ProMOS lowered its forecast.

In an October 31 article, we mistakenly listed Sharp as No. 2 in DisplaySearch's global 17- to 19-inch and 40-inch LCD TV rankings for the 2Q. Sharp did not compete in these categories.

In an October 22 article, we mistakenly reported that Infineon hoped to compete in the China spot market by selling its DRAM modules at a lower price than Hynix Semiconductor.

In a September 22 article, we mistakenly said that Mitac International unveiled the world's first smartphone running on the Microsoft 2003 OS. It is Mitac's first smartphone running on that OS.

In an August 13 article, we mistakenly reported that Gigabyte Technology shipped 100,000-150,000 graphics cards in the first half of 2003. That figure was average monthly shipments for the period.

In an August 1 article, we should have reported that Solomon Wireless claimed to have launched the first "data-only" USB GPRS wireless modem. Other companies, including iWow Connections in Singapore, offered data and voice USB GPRS modems prior to this.

In an article on Friday, we mistakenly said that Access Systems America's Blazer 3.0 Web browser would be bundled with Handspring's new Treo 600 PDA phone. The browser, based on technology from Access, is Handspring's.

We reported on March 10 and 18 that Nanya Technology estimated DDR400 SDRAM would account for 20% of its total DRAM shipments in April when the company's actual estimate is 8%.

On March 18, we incorrectly reported that an RF IC was integrated into ESS Technology's latest single-chip solution for DVD players. Actually, a discrete RF IC will be bundled with the solution. Please see our revised version.

We reported Lite-On Technology's February sales increased 6% on-year when they actually fell 1%. The 6% figure was for combined Jan/Feb sales growth on-year.

According to AOpen, our sources were wrong about prices and volume in our March 6 story on slim-type DVD+R/RW drive shipments to Ricoh. Please see the update here.

On February 14, we incorrectly reported that Toshiba would launch a US$199 PDA. The article should have read that according to sources the company is considering such a move. The company has since denied the report.
