AI-enabled products as a proportion of China's IoT market have been increasing yearly, with a prospect of reaching over 50% in 2024. In particular, consumer AIoT devices accounted for the highest proportion of AI-enabled products used in smart home and household appliance applications (at 50%) in China in 2022.
At present, most smart household appliances feature basic voice recognition functionality, and to improve the quality of voice recognition, the preferred solution in 2024 is to incorporate Large Language Model (LLM) technology into such products.
As such, the smart household appliances having a price tag of over CNY3,200 (US$448) and those with their computing chip costs accounting for over 25% of the total cost will be prioritized in adopting LLM technology, according to DIGITIMES Research.
